Wine and Chocolate? Merlot Might Just Be a Girl's Best FriendThat is right! A Merlot wine and chocolate is a great combination. Of course, make sure it is a good bottle of wine and even better dark chocolate. Ladies, think truffles.My favorite chocolate mix was with truffles from La Maison Du Chocolate in Paris. They have one in New York too and they ship. It is best to have a lot of different types of truffles. That way you can make sure you have the right combination. Of course, if you would prefer, you can buy a lot of wine and just a few chocolates, but you might not remember which combinations work. I like Godiva for this too and Godiva is a lot more available. This red wine goes well with just about anything Cabernet Sauvignon goes well with, like red meats and red pasta sauces, only at a younger age. It is more mellow but it does not age as well.
